[Duncan, British Columbia]: October 18, 2023 – The Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Area (DDBIA) is excited to invite the community to join us in celebrating the vibrant transformation of one of Station Street’s alleys, as we unveil a captivating mural created by local artist Ruth Spohn. This remarkable addition to our downtown landscape is the result of a successful beautification project supported by a grant from the Downtown Duncan BIA.
Station Street Tattoo Company, owned by Ruth Spohn, has been a cornerstone of our community, and it is only fitting that the owner herself lent her artistic talents to this project. Working in collaboration with Jason Fong, co-owner of Cowitan, who provided essential landscaping expertise, this mural is a testament to the power of local collaboration.
The alley, nestled in the heart of our town, is owned by Mr. Chow, whose generosity allowed this project to come to life. Together with the grant funding from the City of Duncan, secured by the Downtown Duncan BIA, we have been able to breathe new life into this unique space.
Join us for the unveiling ceremony, where we will pay tribute Ruth Spohn, and Jason Fong. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of this exceptional mural.
